Chief Financial Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

General Responsibilities:

• Lead the Finance team and provide oversight of all financial activities of the Group, including its subsidiaries, investments, and affiliated projects.
• Manage all facets of corporate finance, financial planning, budgetary controls, treasury management, tax planning, and forecasting.

Corporate Finance:

• Strategically maximize the businesses’ value and returns to stakeholders by efficiently allocating resources, balancing risk, and enhancing profitability.
• Employ detailed financial analysis to guide capital investment and budgeting decisions, ensuring long-term profitability.
• Develop strategies to optimally finance capital investments, considering equity, debt, or a combination of both.
• Efficiently manage company resources by monitoring and optimizing the utilization of current assets and liabilities.
• Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions and private equity, and recommend the most advantageous financial decisions based on valuation models.
• Analyse corporate proposals received from investors, conducting thorough due diligence reviews to critically assess their value.
• Take responsibility for sourcing project funding for fundraising initiatives, evaluating financing options, and applying for financing and loan instruments.
• Continuously monitor liquidity and optimize cash flow management.
• Liaise with external professional parties, including bankers, auditors, tax agents, underwriters, lawyers, regulatory bodies, and others, on various financial decisions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by CEO from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION LEVEL & MAJOR

• Candidate must possess at least a A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field is required.
• An MBA or a CFA/CPA/MIA (or equivalent professional certification) is preferred.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a public listed company.

REQUIRED LANGUAGE

• Bahasa Malaysia, English & Mandarin.

• Strong financial acumen and expertise in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and financial reporting.
• Thorough understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance.
• Ability to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives and promote long-term growth and profitability.
• Strong leadership and management skills to oversee and lead the finance team effectively.
• Proven experience in mentoring and developing finance professionals.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders, board members, and executive management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make informed financial decisions, assess risk, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• A commitment to ethical conduct and high standards of integrity in financial reporting and decision-making.
• Familiarity with the specific industry in which the company operates can be an advantage, as industry knowledge can be critical in understanding market dynamics and making informed financial decisions.
• Proficiency in financial software and technology tools, as well as a willingness to adopt and leverage technology for financial management.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the company’s operations.
• The ability to adapt to changing financial and business environments and navigate through economic fluctuations.
• Strong professional networks and connections within the financial and business community.
